Surface Mount Door Connector & Surface Mount Plug and Receptacle

Problem 1
A customer needed a reliable door connector for use on a power control box. On opening and closing the control box door, the power had to be disconnected and reconnected. Potential number of cycles was very high. Requirement was for maximum reliability.

Problem 2
Another customer asked Teledyne Interconnect Devices to design a reliable plug and receptacle capable of delivering 10,000 mating and unmating cycles without failure.

Solution
A simple, two-piece connector was designed. One side had flat, non-spring contacts; the mating half had spring contacts. Body design assured positive insertion and alignment.

Teledyne Interconnect Devices' surface mount door connector design can be modified to solve virtually any problem requiring a high number of mating and unmating cycles.
