| Low-Profile Card-Edge Connector
Problem 1
A two-way radio manufacturer needed a 180º connector to be surface mounted to a small PC memory board. In addition, the requirement was for the .045" thick memory board to be easily connected to and disconnected from the connector. Space was limited.
Solution
The low-profile, card-edge type connector was designed having a body height of only .220" and a depth of .220". The connector features staggered, .050" pitch contacts that are soldered to the mother board. The memory board is plugged into the card-edge section that has contacts on .050" centers in one row.

Problem 2
A pocket pager manufacturer needed a 90º connector to be surface mounted to a small mother board. In addition, a very thin memory board had to be easily plugged into and unplugged from the connector. Available space was limited.
Solution
Once again, Teledyne Interconnect Devices' engineers designed a low-profile, card-edge connector having a body height of only .080" and a depth of only .180". The connector features staggered, .050" contacts that are solderless, surface mounted to both mother board and memory board. The memory board easily slips in and out of the connector.

Applications
This type of solution is the perfect answer for applications requiring a highly reliable interconnection in a reduced packaging environment. Teledyne Interconnect Devices' low-profile connectors withstand repeated connect/disconnect cycling without reduction in performance.
