Problem
A manufacturer of flight instrumentation required a solderless, clip-on connector for gas discharge display applications. In addition, the connector had to remain reliable under severe operating conditions including temperature extremes, shock, vibration and humidity. A further requirement was for high normal forces, low insertion and extraction forces.

Solution
Teledyne Interconnect Devices' engineers produced the unique Level-Loc® series of solderless connectors. Using a unique "ramp" design, the Lever-Loc® connector provides fast, solderless, clip-on assembly of PCB substrates and displays to other boards, flex circuits and ribbon cable. The high contact force achieved by levering the contacts with high mechanical advantage assures ultra-reliable electrical connection, as well as rigid and dependable mechanical support.
