Problem
A major user of LCD's required a low-profile connector to interconnect LCD's to PCB's without use of conductive epoxy adhesive or solder. The requirement was for the LCD to be removable to single, inline interconnection.

Solution
Teledyne Interconnect Devices' engineers recommended that the manufacturer route all pads of the LCD to one side to allow easy removal. Teledyne Interconnect Devices' engineers then designed a surface mount connector to clip on to the LCD on one side.

This type of connector solution can be modified to fit virtually any LCD application requiring a low-profile, highly reliable interconnection.
